Styling art room by room

What to hang in the living room, bedroom, dining room, office and pooja corner.

Living room

This is the place for your boldest piece or your gallery wall. Abstract and modern work holds its own against sofas, rugs and TV walls; landscapes add depth to small rooms.

Bedroom

Keep it calm. Soft landscapes, botanicals or a personal photo of the two of you above the headboard. A row of three A3+ frames suits most double beds.

Dining room

Hang slightly lower than usual — people look at it while seated. Warm nature and textured canvas prints work beautifully here.

Office or study

One strong image beats many small ones. Running horses and quote frames are popular for a reason: they set the tone for the work day.

Pooja corner & Vastu

Spiritual art is traditionally placed on an east- or north-facing wall, at or slightly above eye level, in a clean, uncluttered space. Gold-toned art in a black frame keeps it elegant.
